Finger Lakes business and vineyard owners, elected officials, property owners and residents gathered in Albany Tuesday to call on Governor Andrew Cuomo to reject Circular enerG, LLC’s trash incinerator proposal for Romulus. Sue Ellen Balluff, Town of Romulus Planning Board Member, says the community is largely opposed to the proposed project, as is the town and planning boards.
Nancy Irelan is co-owner of Red Tail Ridge Winery in Penn Yan, which is the first LEED-gold winery in New York State.
The proposal would allow the daily transportation of nearly 3-THOUSAND tons of trash presumably from New York City by truck and/or rail for burning at an incinerator facility built at the former Seneca Army Depot in Romulus.
