Auburn Community Hospital has been recognized by Blue Cross and Blue Shield for its expertise in Maternity Care and Bariatric Surgery. Matt Chadderdon says both departments have received Blue Distinction Center’s Plus designations, which is a big deal in the healthcare industry.
Chatterdon adds the designations are another indication at the types of services ACH is able to provide.
To receive a Blue Distinction Center+ for Bariatric Surgery designation, a health care facility must demonstrate success in meeting patient safety measures as well as bariatric-specific quality measures including complication and readmission rates for laparoscopic sleeve, gastrectomy and gastric bypass. It should be noted that a health care facility must be nationally accredited at both the facility and bariatric program-specific levels.
In 2017, Auburn Community Hospital’s Maternity department delivered over 400 babies.
