It took a while, but Auburn City Council last night voted to repeal and replace the city’s zoning code.
City Clerk Chuck Mason said on this morning’s Finger Lakes Morning News concerns were raised at public hearings about changes to the code. Staff members restored the Specialized Commercial District and residential zoning along South Street and re-established the industrial zoning district in the northwest quadrant of the city.
Council also voted to approve a resolution paving the way for the transfer of the Owasco Lake inspection program from the county’s soil and water conservation district to the Owasco Lake Management Council.
That vote had been on hold since November, when issues arose over the wording of the contract.
It’s expected Public Utilities Director Seth Jensen will be the city’s appointee to the management council
