Lorraine Hess-Taylor, 92, a former resident of Moravia and Cortland, died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018, at the Groton Community Health Care Facility after a short illness.
Lorraine was born Dec. 14, 1925 in Denver, Colo., the daughter of Charles R. and Nellie M. Blair Clark. She had been employed with Cornell University as a secretary. She was member of St. Patrick’s Church, Moravia.
She was predeceased by her husbands, Jack D. Hess and F. Melvin Taylor, and a son, Michael Hess Sr.
She is survived by her children, Marynell (Gerald) Bergenstock and Kathleen Purdy, both of Moravia, Theresa Norton, of Dryden, and Jack (Vickie) Hess, of Homer; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018, at the Wade Funeral Home, 22 Church St., Moravia. A graveside service will be held in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Moravia in the spring.
