Officials say a state DOT snow plow truck is a total loss. The truck erupted into flames on the Thruway near the Geneva exit on Friday, forcing one lane to be closed for several hours. Crews used over 17-hundred pounds of water to put out the blaze. Investigators believe the fire appears to be mechanical in nature. No one was injured.
A large snowplow fire closed down one lane of the Thruway for several hours near the Geneva exit Friday night.
No injuries were reported.
Firefighters have yet to release a cause of the fire.
