A Cayuga County man with a lengthy record of domestic violence pled guilty in Cayuga County Court on Friday to charges of terrorizing his girlfriend and setting her on fire.
Chief Assistant District Attorney Chris Valdina tells Finger Lakes News Radio the woman is lucky to be alive.
52-year old Milton Richardson and the woman were living in a garage, but Valdina says she was not being held against her will until the incident occurred on August 22, 2017.
Richardson pled guilty to Attempted Arson and will be sentenced April 5 seven years in prison and five years’ post-release supervision, along with an order of protection and restitution for damage to the victim’s property.
Richardson was released from a Florida prison in July 2017 after serving twelve years for raping and impregnating a 14-year-old girl. He also has a lengthy criminal history in Cayuga County, including a felony drug sale conviction from 2003.
