The Seneca Falls Town Board will hear an update tonight plans to purse eminent domain as part of a plan to upgrade town sewer lines.
Town Attorney David Foster will update the board on the option because the town has been unable to reach an agreement with the owners of the Ludovico Sculpture Trail. The town wants to install a larger sewer line along the south side of the Cayuga-Seneca Canal. The larger line would be part of the Route 414 sewer upgrade for increased flow from the town of Tyre and the del Lago Resort and Casino.
Putting the new line under the sculpture trail would be less disruptive than ripping up Routes 5&20 or West Bayard Street.
A public hearing on the plan to install the pipe along the trail is scheduled for next month.
Town officials say they will leave the tail in better condition than it is now.
