Romulus resident Alan Kiehle has filed an appeal with the town against interpretations of the Romulus Zoning Code by Adam Schrader, the town’s Zoning Enforcement Officer. Schrader classified the proposed waste incinerator project as “renewable energy production” in response to inquiries from proponents. We asked Alan what he hopes the result of the appeal will be.
Kiehle is against the proposed incinerator, specifically its location.
The proposal, submitted by developer Circular enerG, LLC, would allow the daily transportation of thousands of tons of trash from around the state by truck and/or rail for burning at an incinerator facility built at the Seneca Army Depot.
