State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli released a report on Monday that shows Cayuga County enjoyed a big bump in sales tax revenue in 2017. Collections in the county jumped 10.26% over 2016 figures.
County Treasurer Jim Orman tells Finger Lakes News Radio it’s all because of increased consumer confidence.
Local sales tax collection across the state grew by $620 Million from 2016, the highest year-to-year growth since 2013. The Finger Lakes recorded the strongest regional growth, up 4.9% from 2016.
