Lake Tunnel Solar Village-four words you will be hearing alot in the year ahead. The Lake Tunnel Solar Village is a townhome project of SmallGrid LLC, which was founded in 2016 by Ryan Wallace, who also founded QwikSolar LLC.
Last night, Lake Tunnel Solar Village sponsored the Geneva Area Chamber of Commerce annual banquet. Plans were unveiled for the project which includes multiple residential units and a proposed community center, all located within walking distance to the lakefront and near the 5&20 tunnel. Ryan Wallace of Small Grid says they already have people committed to buying homes there.
The project will be the most technologically advanced housing development in the northeastern United States, featuring new technologies. Construction for which will begin in June.
Also last night, the Chamber presented it’s “Member of the Year” award to the Town of Geneva, honoring the concentrated growth that has taken place over the last year.
Two “Chamber Champion” awards were given out to honor outstanding board and committee members that have gone above and beyond to show their support and involvement toward not only understanding, but participating in Chamber programs and events. Those awards went to, Assistant Vice President and Dean of Campus Operations for Hobart and William Smith Colleges, Stacey Pierce; and Chad Lahr, owner and founder of Community Proud Apparel, co-owner of I Heart the FLX clothing line, and owner/manager of a variety of other small businesses and properties in the area.
