Vinnie was born on April 3, 1929 in Dasa, Italy and was a daughter of the late Joseph and Antoinette (Bava) Farina. Prior to marrying her husband of 70 years, Peter Carnovale, she studied to become a school teacher in Italy. She was a devoted homemaker who provided her family with a loving home. Vinnie worked hard, retired from the Hulse and dedicated her life to others. She enjoyed cooking, baking, knitting and entertaining company. Most of all, she loved being with her family and hosting Sunday dinners. She was a member of the GAIL Lodge, the Rosary Society, the American Legion Auxiliary and Our Lady of Peace Parish.
Vinnie is survived by her loving husband, Peter M. Carnovale of Geneva; daughters Anne (Michael) Rapini of Geneva, Joanna Singleton of N.C., Donna Carnovale of Calif., and Deborah (Stan) Proffitt of Geneva; grandchildren Eric Rapini of Geneva, Melissa French Rapini of Nashville, Tenn., Dana (Chris) Acciavatti of Durham, N.C., and Lindsay Singleton of Charlotte, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
Vinnie was predeceased by her brothers Salvatore and Frank Farina; sister, Sr. Gina Farina; and her grandson-in-law, James French.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Norma Augustine for always being there to listen while styling her hair and making “mom” look so beautiful.
