Two dozen baby pigs rescued from a farm in Cattaraugus County are recovering at Farm Sanctuary in Watkins Glen after being found extremely malnourished and in life-threatening conditions.
Gerald Nason, Junior is accused of cruelty to animals after he allegedly neglected to care for 72 pigs at his Ashford farm. Nason is also accused of not seeking necessary medical attention for most of the pigs. The pigs found in the worst condition were brought to Schuyler County and the remaining animals will be taken to local rescue farms in Western New York.
Nason was jailed on multiple counts of animal cruelty.
