The federal tax reform bill will have a long-term negative impact on NY taxpayers. That was the opinion expressed on Friday’s Finger Lakes Morning News by New York State Association of Counties Deputy Director Mark LaVigne.
LaVigne added the recent reform measure should force the state to look at how it got to where it is now.
He said it’s time for lawmakers and Gov. Cuomo to follow the lead of the Trump administration and find ways to cut government spending, rather than increasing the property tax burden on taxpayers.
