UPDATE: The man hit by a car on South Street in Auburn Thursday night is apparently going to be okay.
The Auburn Citizen reports Jerrell Brooks was airlifted to Upstate Medical Center as a precautionary measure, but is expected to make a full recovery.
The incident closed nearby roads for about 3 hours.
The 17-year-old driver of the vehicle that hit Brooks is not expected to face charges.
Auburn Police continue their investigation after a pedestrian was airlifted to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse after being struck by a vehicle on South Street near Swift Street in Auburn on Thursday night.
The Citizen reports Fire Chief Joe Morabito witnessed the incident and called 9-1-1. Traffic was rerouted around the scene while accident reconstruction officers conducted their investigation.
An Auburn Police spokesman tells Finger Lakes News Radio Upstate reports the unidentified man’s injuries are not life-threatening.
