The acting director of the Cayuga County Emergency Management Office is seeking a new emergency services facility.
Niel Rivenburgh led county legislators on a tour of the current Quarry Road facility on Wednesday night before asking them to finance a new building.
Sheriff Dave Gould was along for the tour. He said on Thursday’s Finger Lakes Morning News Rivenburgh told the Judicial and Public Safety Committee members there are trailers and other vehicles stored in the open that couldn’t be moved until the recent snow was removed.
Sheriff Gould understands that finding the funds for the new facility is an issue.
Rivenburgh would like to see a 6,000 square foot, six bay building that would have an estimated price tag ranging from $220,000 to $320,000.
