The Ithaca Voice reports an Administrative Law Judge who presided over the case, released her decision on the matter Tuesday and found the hospital terminated the two nurses unlawfully.
In its defense, Cayuga Medical Center said it fired two I-C-U nurses for violating blood transfusion policy and falsely documenting it. The nurses argued the way they performed the transfusion and documented it was common practice and they were really targeted for their union activity.
The hospital plans on appealing the ruling.
