I posed a question on my Facebook page. I asked what you would major in now (after you’ve had some life experiences) if you were to go back to college. Or what would you choose as a profession now if you could re-pick. The responses I got were really great! And it made me think…Why wait? You want to study philosophy? Go to the library and read Bach’s Jonathan Livingston Seagull or (for something newer) Eckart Tolle ‘s A New Earth. We have a wonderful library right here and you can put any book on hold and be a self-taught learner of just about anything. You don’t have to necessarily pay a tuition or get paid in a profession to learn about what you love. You could just do it for the sake of learning and enriching your life. Of course there is You Tube and Google also but, as we know, I’m old school and love a great book! We are never too old to learn new tricks! The world is at our fingertips! It is never too late to become a life long learner. You’d be amazed at the possibilities that open up when you just take the first step outside of your comfort zone.

Stay Healthy this Season
Crawl into bed earlier. Skimping on shut-eye makes you four times liker to catch a cold, according to the study in the Sleep Journal. “Not getting enough rest can make your infection fighting T cells less effective “says Dr. Holly Phillips, MD and author of The Exhaustion Breakthrough.
The Fix: Schedule sleep as you would an important meeting or appointment. That means adjusting your schedule so slumber takes a priority. Also, take pre -bed prep seriously – dim the lights and remove all electronic devices from your bedroom. .
