Helen Santino, 98, entered eternal rest Friday (January 5, 2018) peacefully at home with her loving family by her side.
Friends may call on Thursday (January 11) from 4 to 7 p.m. at Boeheim-Pusateri Funeral Home, 77 William St, Lyons with a funeral on Friday (January 12) at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph the Worker ( St. Michael’s), Lyons. Burial at South Lyons Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph the Worker(St. Michael’s Church) , Lyons.
Helen was born September 29, 1919 in Lyons, N.Y. to John and Angelina Alvaro, one of 13 children. She resided in Lyons N.Y. her entire life. Helen helped raise her youngest siblings and later married and raised three children of her own. Helen worked at The Old World Inn where she retired from. Helen was a devote Catholic, enjoyed traveling, dancing, bingo and going to the casino. Most of all Helen dedicated her entire life to her family raising her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Helen is survived by daughter, Mary Maloney Sloane; son-in-law, David (Sandy) Sloane Sr.; grandchildren David (Melissa) Sloane Jr., Shelley Sloane and Michael Maloney Reynolds; great-grandchildren Megan, Kristen, Anthony, Ashley, Audrey, Giovanni; great-great grandchildren Liam and Pandora; one sister, Rose Alvaro Zulauf; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her two husbands John Maloney Sr. and Jessie Santino and two sons John Maloney Jr. and Robert Maloney; parents John and Angelina Alvaro; brothers Nick, Joe, Frank, Sam, Michael, Jimmy, Anthony and Phillip; sisters Margaret, Nellie and Mary.
Helen will be greatly missed and forever remembered by everyone. Helen was a one of a kind women who helped everyone, a true Angel on earth. Helen will be gone but never forgotten, rest in peace.
