Mother Nature wiped out just about all the high school sports action Friday, leaving the stage to the colleges and pros. In men’s college basketball, Hobart downed RIT, 75-64; and Wells wasted by Hamilton, 97-61; while on the women’s side, William Smith fell to RIT, 83-75. The Statesmen and Herons head to Ithaca today, while the Wells men travel to Elms. Don’t forget Syracuse will host Notre Dame at 3 on Finger Lakes News Radio.
In college hockey, both Hobart and William Smith played to draws, as the Statesmen tied Manhattanville, 3-3; and the Herons and UMAss Boston knotted up at 2. Hobart takes on Skidmore today, while William Smith and UMass Boston play their 2nd game of a back-to-back at the Cooler at 4.
In the AHL, the Amerks dropped Bridgeport, 3-2; and in the NHL, the Sabres edged by Winnipeg, 4-3, and the Islanders blanked by Pittsburgh, 4-0.
In the NBA, Miami got by the Knicks, 107-103 in OT.
