Tuesday’s preliminary hearing in the sexual abuse case against Bob Champlin, the owner of Lloyd’s Limited in Penn Yan, was not held.
The Finger Lakes Times reports the case will now go to a county grand jury.
The 61 year old is accused of sexually assaulting two females late Christmas Eve and early Christmas morning at the Main Street establishment he has owned for nearly two decades. Last Thursday, Champlin pleaded not guilty in Penn Yan Village Court to felony charges of criminal sexual act and attempted rape, along with misdemeanor charges of unlawfully dealing with a child and forcible touching. He was jailed in lieu of 50-THOUSAND dollars bail.
The New York State Liquor Authority suspended the liquor license at Lloyd’s last Friday.
