There will be a four year phase for New York’s new Paid Family Leave Act, which went into effect on New Year’s Day. In the first year employees will be able to take up to eight weeks of paid leave at 50 percent of their average weekly wage.
Seneca County Chamber President Jeff Shipley says the act will have a big impact on smaller companies.
