State Police are continuing their investigation after a 73-year old woman was struck and killed Saturday evening on State Route 5 near Sandbank Road in the town of Elbridge.
In a release, State Police Major Philip Rougeux reports that at approximately 5 p.m. 46-year old Betsy Marshall of Syracuse was traveling west on State Route 5 just east of Sandbank Road when 73-year-old Fanny O’Hara began to cross the highway from the south shoulder and was struck by Marshall’s vehicle.
Mrs. O’Hara was transported to SUNY Upstate University Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
