A state appeals court has rejected the appeal of a Brutus man convicted of rape. The Auburn Citizen reports Andrew Laury was sentenced to two years in prison and five years post-release supervision after a 2015 guilty plea. Laury admitted to having sexual relationships with two 15 year old girls.
In his appeal, Laury says the court didn’t tell him his guilty plea would result in his being guity of a parole violation. The appellate court said Laury’s appeal was “without merit,” saying the original court had no obligation to notify him of the potential parole violation.
