The Auburn boy who raised money to purchase a star for the city’s Christmas tree was recognized by City Council at its meeting on Thursday night.
City Clerk Chuck Mason said on Friday’s Finger Lakes Morning News the city’s tree won the holiday decorating contest and Finn Bell was asked by Mayor Michael Quill to choose an organization to receive the $150 Wegmans gift card.
The 4th-grader chose the Cayuga Seneca Community Action Agency’s domestic violence services program.
Police Chief Shawn Butler said on Thursday the police department and the Sheriff’s Office are joining with CSCAA in a domestic violence prevention program.
Chief Butler and Downtown BID Director Stephanie DeVito presented Finn with a plaque thanking him for his kind spirit and generosity.
