Lorne J. Dailey “Orville”, 68, of Moravia, died Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. Lorne went home to heaven and was greeted by his beloved Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
He was born Jan. 14, 1949 to Donald and Janet Shorette Dailey in Massena, N.Y. He had been a resident of Moravia for several years.
He served with the U.S. Marine Corps from 1969-1971 stationed in Japan. Following his service he had employment with Dunn & McCarthy and Columbian Rope in Auburn, and Borg-Warner in Ithaca until his retirement.
Surviving are his wife, Carol Derby Dailey whom he married Jan. 4, 1969; four sons, Michael (Linda) Dailey, of Montezuma, Robert Dailey (Elizabeth Renna), of Syracuse, David (Shawna) Dailey and James Dailey (Kimberly Lattin), both of Moravia; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; five brothers, Darrell, Timothy, Ward, Daniel, and Matthew; four sisters, Janalynn, Shannon, Donna, and Mary-Ellen; and several nieces and nephews.
Lorne was predeceased by his loving parents, and brother, Larry.
There are no services scheduled at this time. A family memorial will be scheduled at a later date.
