A public hearing for the future of the Auburn landfill will be held at Thursday’s City Council meeting.
Public Works Director Mike Talbot tells Finger Lakes News Radio they’ll have an idea in January about the site’s life expectancy.
Talbot gave Council 11 options at last week’s meeting. His top three all include getting out of the landfill business after more than 50 years.
In addition, the 11 options come with hefty price tags.
Talbot told Council “the business of landfilling has probably outgrown the city.”
