Miss Ann Newton Hubbs, 93, of Geneva passed away on Tuesday (December 12, 2107) at the Homestead in Penn Yan.
There will be no prior calling hours. A Memorial Service in Trinity Church will be held in January of 2018 at a time to be announced. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.
Memorial contributions, in her memory, may be made to the Geneva Public Library or to Geneva Reads.
Ann was born in Geneva and was a lifelong resident. She was the daughter of the late Dr. Andrew and Marguerite Hammond Hubbs. She was the granddaughter of the late Rev. John Brewster Hubbs former rector of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church and after that was a chaplain at St. John’s Chapel at HWS until his retirement. She was also a niece of H. Newton Hubbs a popular Mathematics Professor at HWS and who served as President of the colleges in 1956. Ann was an active member of Trinity Episcopal Church and was a regular volunteer for the “Linden Shop” from the time it was first started in 1957 with the help of her mother until a few years ago.
She is survived by her cousin, Scott Partridge, grandson of Edward Bellamy Partridge , who wrote the best seller “The Country Lawyer” and other cousins in the Rochester area.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the DeVaney-Bennett Funeral Home.
