The Cayuga County Legislature is taking a step closer to raising pay for themselves and other county employees. The Citizen reports legislators, who have a base salary of 10-thousand-100 dollars, have not seen a hike in pay since 2005.
The Ways and Means Committee agreed last night to raise their pay by one thousand dollars. A rise in salary would also be considered for some part-time positions, including on the civil service commission, as well as selected appointed positions.
The full Legislature will meet Thursday to vote on a public hearing on the pay increases. If legislature agrees, a public hearing would be held on January 23rd.
