Kathleen Oldfield, passed away Wednesday, (December 6, 2017) in Rochester General Hospital, after an extended illness.
Friends and family may call on Sunday, (December 10) from 4-7 p.m. at Mull Funeral Home, 113 Virginia Street Waterloo.A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, (December 11) at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Mary’s Church. Burial will follow in Saint Mary’s Cemetery.
Kathy requested memorial contributions be made to either; Saint Mary’s Church, 25 Center Street, Waterloo 13165, Marietta College, 215 5th St, Marietta, OH 45750 or Beverly Animal Shelter, 50 East River Street, Waterloo, NY 13165.
Kathleen was born on May 9, 1947, in Waterloo the daughter of the late Andrew H. (Barney) and Virginia Marie (Parete) Oldfield. She was a 1965 graduate of Waterloo Central School. Kathy continued her education at Marietta College, Ohio, graduating 1969 and earning her degree in English Literature. She began her thirty three years of teaching at Waterloo and taught thirty two of those years as an English Teacher.
She was a lifetime member of Saint Mary’s Church in Waterloo. Kathy was on the Board of Education from 2003 until 2017. Kathy belong to Delta Kappa Sigma Beta Chapter and Phi Beta Psi Sorority.She was a volunteer for the Geneva General Auxiliary.
Kathy Took great joy from a group she founded, “The Classy Ladies”
Her interest included; the theatre, her friends and family, numerous crafts and her beloved pets.Her special joy came from making and giving quilts to special people and causes.
She is survived by her uncle, Charles DeParde; dear friends Diane L. Kurtz of West Haven Conn. and Deirdre Crofton of Naples N.Y.; special neighbors Donald and Margaret Eichenhofer; several other aunts and uncles; a host of Parete and Oldfield cousins.
