Cayuga County’s new administrator is ready to get to work. The county legislature appointed Justin Woods on election day last month, filling the position left vacant following the departure of Suzanne Sinclair in March.
Woods said on Tuesday’s Finger Lakes Morning News he was sworn in on Friday and will start full time duties on December 18.
He credited lawmakers with doing a good job of running the county since Suzanne Sinclair resigned in March, but added he needs to get up to speed ASAP.
Woods said he’s getting regular updates from the county management team. One of first requests was to get the 2018 county budget posted online. The draft budget was not posted on the county website, and was approved by the legislature a week ago after no one spoke at the public hearing before the vote was held.
