Kenneth R. Allen, age 93 of Geneva passed away on Monday (November 20, 2017) at home.
Family and friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to11:00 a.m. on Friday (Nov. 24) at the McGuigan & Bero Funeral Home, 45 High St. Geneva. Funeral services will follow at 1100 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sand Hill Cemetery.
Kenneth was born on in Geneva the son of the late Malcom and Carrie Shires Allen. He served in the US Army during WWII in the 75th Infantry Artillery Division and took part in the Battle of the Bulge. After the service he worked briefly at the Seneca Army depot and retired as a Union Carpenter. after retirement Kenneth continued with his love of wood doing wood working.
He was a 65 year member of United Brotherhood of Carpenters & Joiners of America, a life member of the Geneva V.F.W. where he was instrumental in the opening of the Post on North St. and was very active in the Honor Guard. He loved the outdoors especially hunting and camping.
He is survived by his son, Mark (Theresa) Allen of Geneva; grandchildren Kenna Liseno, Andrea Minnier and Megan Allen; great-grandchildren Aubrey, Cole, Kasey, Kalieb, Lucien and Greason; brother, Thomas (Janice) Allen of Geneva; several nieces and nephews.
Kenneth was predeceased by his wife of 64 years Dorothy; daughter, Donna Allen; siblings Esther (Edward) Hayes, Bertha (Edward) Dudash, Bernice (Gerald) Holland, Helen (James) Dougherty, Ruth (James) Moore, Malcolm (Shirley) Allen, II and Virginia (Edward) Smith.
