Vivian L. Stanton, age 94, formerly of Prattsburgh, passed away Thursday, November 16th, 2017 at the Homestead Nursing Home in Penn Yan.
Vivian was born on April 11, 1923, the daughter of the late Fred and Elizabeth (Friendship) Cole. She enjoyed oil painting. Vivian also enjoyed her time wintering in Florida with her husband, Ervin. She was also a former active member of the Prattsburgh United Methodist Church, where she taught vacation bible school and helped with church dinners. Vivian and her husband, Ervin, were honored with the Citizens of the Year by the Town of Prattsburgh.
Vivian is survived by her children, Charlotte (Dennis) Day, Joyce (Robert) Stevens and Gerald Stanton; grandchildren, Gary Day, Lucas Day, Mark (Lea) Stevens, and Laura (Joshua) Bailey; Five Great grandchildren, Caleb, Harry, Anna, Abigail, and Sophia; special family friend, Sandra O’Dockerty. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Ervin R. Stanton on April 17th, 2007.
Friends and family may call from 11am to 1pm on Saturday, November 25th, 2017 at Bottoni Wood Funeral Home, 4 Mechanic St., Prattsburgh, NY 14873. A funeral service celebrating Vivian’s Life will be held following at 1pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Rural Cemetery in Prattsburgh. Memorial donations may be made in Vivian’s memory to the Ontario-Yates Hospice, 756 Pre Emption Rd., Penn Yan, NY 14456.
