An Albany woman accused of running a fake law firm is heading to prison. Prosecutors say Antonia Barrone stole over 23-thousand dollars from more than 400 New Yorkers statewide.
Authorities say Barrone was running a law firm that was advertised as helping prison inmates and their families deal with parole, but she’s not a licensed attorney. Barrone allegedly had clients all over the state, including in Cayuga County. Barrone has been sentenced to up to three years in prison after pleading guilty on charges of scheme to defraud.
Barrone will serve her sentence alongside a separate conviction stemming from a high speed chase in 2016.
