The Cayuga County legislature approved the 2018 preliminary budget last night by an 11-3 vote. The spending plan includes a 2% tax hike and a $550 thousand draw on the fund balance.
Legislature Chairman Keith Batman said on Wednesday’s Finger Lakes Morning News he expects the budget will be balanced by the end of next year.
A public hearing on the budget will be held on November 28. If there’s little or no concerns raised county lawmakers could approve the spending plan that night.
