Over the last few weeks, we’ve been forced to admit what we should have known all along, that men of power all too often use their power to coerce sex from women.
For the most part, the women are afraid to speak up, for fear that bringing the accusation will be worse for the accuser than for the accused. Often, one or two brave accusers lead to others stepping forward. That’s what’s happened in the case of Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore. There appears to be little doubt he at least attempted to have sexual contact with teenage girls. He was reportedly banned from an Alabama mall for propositioning young girls when he was in his 30s. Given an opportunity to defend himself on the Sean Hannity Show, he succeeded in further incriminating himself to the point that he lost Hannity’s support. For a day. After all, it’s Sean Hannity. So we have a Republican embroiled in scandal. When Gotham City was in trouble, Commissioner Gordon sent out the Bat Signal. When Republicans are in trouble, they send out the Clinton Signal.
What about Bill? Didn’t he do the same thing? I’m glad you asked. The answer is simple. No, he did not.
Republicans spent seven years and 40 million dollars investigating Bill Clinton and found, in addition to a money-losing land deal, two consensual sexual encounters, one with Gennifer Flowers (not the torrid 12 year relationship she claimed, including rendezvous’ in a hotel that had not yet been built at the time) and one very famous one in the Oval Office with 21 year old White House intern Monica Lewinsky, who was not 21 and was not a White House intern at the time. Leading the charge against the president was Speaker of the House and serial adulterer Newt Gingrich.
But what about (name of accuser here?) All proven to be liars, driven by political and/or financial motives.
Let me be clear. Bill Clinton’s behavior was creepy. However, he was not a sexual predator and he didn’t target underage girls. Most people who live outside the Fox News-talk radio bubble know that. Fun fact, “Bill Clinton sexual predator” turns up 735,000 results on google. “Donald Trump sexual predator” turns up 2.47 million.
