Elsie L. Freier, 94, of Fayette/Geneva, entered into the loving arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, Friday (November 10, 2017) in Geneva General Hospital, with her loving family by her side.
Friends may call 4 to 7 p.m. Monday (Nov. 13) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home, Waterloo, NY. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday (Nov. 14) at Living Hope Assembly of God Church,10 Chapel St., Waterloo, NY, 13165. Rev.Eric Hamlin, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Waterloo, N.Y.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Living Hope Assembly of God Church.
Elsie was born July 9, 1923, in New Hope, N.Y., the daughter of Everett and Bessie A. Patchen Clark. She was a graduate of Moravia High School, Moravia, N.Y. Elsie was also a graduate of Cortland Teachers College, Cortland, N.Y. She taught First through Third grades in a two room school house at Rose Hill Country School. She also worked beside her husband and family on the family farm. Elsie was a former member of First Baptist Church of Geneva and a member of Living Hope Assembly of God Church, where she played her violin. She also played her violin for residents at Seneca Nursing
and Rehabilitation Center over the years. Elsie was an amazing woman with an unwavering love for God, witnessing to all she met and prayed for everyone she knew.
Her family was her pride and joy!! She is survived by son, Douglas (Lisie) Freier of Geneva, N.Y.; daughters Kathleen (Ronald) Felice of Palmyra, N.Y. and Carol (Howard,Jr.) Hemminger of Geneva, N.Y.; grandchildren Sherri (Joel) Cousineau, Cassie Felice, Juliana (Braden Young) Freier, Timothy Freier, Michael Freier, Stacy Freier, Philip (Lori) Hemminger, and Laurie Tornow; great-grandchildren Caleb Cousineau, Isaac Cousineau, Zade Cousineau, Philip Hemminger, II, Andrew (Nicole) Hemminger, and Sara Hemminger; great great-grandchildren Addyson Hemminger and Avalyn Hemminger; many nieces and nephews. She was blessed with family as her caregivers. Elsie was touched by caregivers she loved as if they were her own family, Jackie, Pam, Daidra, Barb, Betty and Sue.
Elsie was predeceased by her husband, Wilbur W. Freier; brother, Wesley Clark; and sister, Doris Powers.
A very special “thank you” to the hospital staff who cared for her in her final days.
