A crash that happened over the summer in Cayuga County has now resulted in homicide charges filed against a North Syracuse woman. 24-year-old Kadesha Dunham is being charged with two counts of criminally negligent homicide and three counts of assault.
Investigators say Dunham was at fault for the accident when she tried passing a concrete truck in Sennett back in June in a no-passing zone. Police say Dunham crashed head-on with a pick-up truck driven by 47-year-old William Curtis, of Skaneateles.
Although Curtis suffered none-life threatening injuries, police say two of Dunham’s passengers were killed and her three-year-old son is now paralyzed. Dunham was arraigned Thursday afternoon in Sennett Town Court.
The Cayuga County District Attorney’s office says criminally negligent homicide carries a maximum sentence of up to four years in prison.
