A couple of local teams are involved in state regional playoff action today. Clyde-Savannah will take on Alexander in the Class D football regional at 6 o’clock at Alfred University, while Marion squares off against Allegany-Limestone in the Class C girls soccer regional at 2 o’clock at Williamsville South High School.
College gridiron also on tap for this afternoon, as Syracuse heads to Florida State for a date with the Seminoles at 12:20 on Finger Lakes News Radio, and Hobart meets Saint Lawrence at Boswell Field. That kickoff has been moved to 11am.
In college soccer, both Hobart and William Smith host Liberty League semis today. The Statesmen face RIT at 11 on Cozzens Field, while the Herons match up with Saint Lawrence at the Boz at 4. Meanwhile, the NAC field hockey title is on the line, as Keuka faces Husson at 3.
In the AHL, the Amerks outlasted Hershey in a wild one, 7-6; while Syracuse dropped one to Laval, 6-5. The Crunch and Laval play the 2nd half of their home-and-home at 3, while Rochester heads to Utica at 7 o’clock. Also, the Buffalo Sabres are at Dallas at 8.
