The death of a man at a Wayne County nursing home is under investigation by state officials.
The Daily Messenger reports 80 year old Wayne Tuper died two weeks after being entered into the Sodus Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, also known as Blossom View. Tuper had been suffering from dementia and family members claim during his short stint at Blossom View, he suffered broken bones, multiple bruises, head injuries and had fallen several times. 14 days after his stay began, Tuper was found dead in his bed by his son. Dave Tuper says when he went to alert the nursing staff they already knew of his dad’s passing but had failed to notify his family.
Dave Tuper has since filed a complaint with the Department of Health, whose website states Blossom View has been cited approximately 50 times in the last four years. Even though Wayne Tuper’s death certificate says he died from cardiac arrest, his family has ordered an autopsy be done since he reportedly fell on his head the night before his death.
