The future status of the Ontario County landfill was key topic at this week’s Geneva League of Women Voters Candidates Night where all 6 people running for Geneva City Supervisor offered their thoughts.
The landfill’s state permit expires in 2028 but Democratic incumbent Dom Vedora who represents Wards 1 and 2 says future leaders may take a different direction. He wants the landfill to be closed as soon as possible and as safely as possible. .
Republican challenger Frank Gaglianese the 3rd says with the current 11 year lead time the county should be able to find suitable environmentally satisfying alternatives like recycling.
We’ll have comments from the Ward 3 and 4 hopefuls on Thursday
