A document on file with the state Department of Transportation from the town of Tyrone has been falsified. The town board was made aware of the apparent issue earlier this month.
According to the Watkins Review, the document in question is a resolution on file with the Hornell Department of Transportation office that includes two roads on a form that should not have been listed. The roads, which are private, were never approved by the town board to be repaired and funding by the town. Town Supervisor Don Desrochers says the document that is falsified includes the voting preference of town board members, the supervisor and a signature on the line for town clerk. Deborah Tyler, who serves as Tyrone’s town clerk, signed a statement last week testifying she never signed any such document to include the two roads.
An investigation is ongoing.
