Dog-napping Lil Jed from the Finger Lakes SPCA of Central NY shelter in Auburn will result in jail time for a Union Springs man.
39-year old William Butler on Thursday admitted to Cayuga County Court Judge Thomas Leone he was fueled by a mix of Xanax and alcohol when he broke into the shelter on the night of May 2 and took the 10 week old pup. Your tips helped Auburn Police recover Jed two days later and led to Butler’s arrest.
Judge Leone is expected to sentence Butler next month to 2 to 4 years in prison, but he told Butler much of the time will be served on supervised parole.
Jed enjoyed rock star status in Auburn until he was adopted by his new family, where he’s now leading a quiet life.
