A joint bid for the Buffalo-Rochester area to be the site of Amazon’s new second headquarters has been submitted. The bid is called “The Buffalo-Rochester Metro Corridor.”
Pegula Sports & Entertainment, the owners of the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabers, helped to put together a video showcasing the area as part of the bid. Specific details of the submission are not being released, due to the extremely competitive nature of the selection process. Rochester and Buffalo officials say the video supports the data in the proposal they sent to Amazon.
Amazon issued a request for proposals for potential site locations for the company’s second corporate headquarters (HQ2). The company said it could hire as many as 50,000 new full-time employees; the average wage for workers would be roughly $100,000 over the next 10-15 years.
