A Skaneateles man charged for fleeing police and causing an accident that injured a mother and child is facing additional charges. Toxicology tests show 39-year old Michael DeMarco Jr. allegedly had a blood alcohol content of .15 and there was THC in his system.
On September 1st he fled from a DWI checkpoint on the Arterial and ran head-on into a car at Seymour St. and Grant. Av. DeMarco was airlifted to Upstate with a head injury. 26-year old Jene Smith spent several days in Auburn Community Hospital being treated for a leg injury. Her 6-year old son was treated for minor injuries.
DeMarco will be in court next month, and could face up to 15 years in prison.
