Star Cider of Clifton Springs will be one of the first local companies to take advantage of the state’s Start Up New York program . They want to build a production facility and lab near Finger Lakes Community College’s Main Campus in Hopewell. Co-owner and head cider maker Cortni McGregor Stahl says they’d like to grow the business beyond the 4-thousand gallons of hard cider they produced last year.
They plan to spend 300-thousand dollars to build the production space and create 5 new jobs. They would also have internship programs for FLCC students.
