Seneca Lake has been a hotspot for algae blooms this year, and a public forUm is being held later this month to address the topic. The Seneca Lake Pure Waters Association is hosting the forum at the Ramada Geneva Lakefront on October 26th at six o’clock.
Organizers say topics to be tackled at the forum include the toxicity of bluegreen algae, measures on how to protect public health, and respond to concerns about the widespread outbreak last month of harmful algae blooms in the lake.
In addition, guest speakers will participate in a question and answer session.
The association has been around since 1991.
