Ten days after a Canandaigua police officer fatally shot an off-duty parole officer at Pinnacle North, city officials are still refusing to name that officer, and have not given an official reason why.
The Daily Messenger reports it has filed a Freedom of Information Law request for the officer’s name, but has so far not received that information.
City officials remain tight-lipped, with City Manager John Goodwin opting not to release a statement on the matter Friday.
48-year-old Sandy Guardiola died in the shooting.
The officer remains on administrative leave while the investigation continues.
