Joseph “JC” Christiano, age 92, passed away Tuesday, (October 10, 2017) in Mission Medical Center, Mission Viejo, California with his daughter Robin and her husband Steven by his side.
A Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday, (October 14), at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Mary’s Church, 25 Center Street, Waterloo. The Reverend Thomas Mull will officiate.
JC was born in Waterloo, N.Y. on October 5, 1925, the son of the late Joseph and Maria (Pasco) Christiano. He graduated at age 17 from Waterloo High School and immediately joined the Air Corp as a Radarman where he proudly served during WWll.
JC owned a popular store called JC-TV in Waterloo until he sold it in 1977. He sold many people in the area the very first television they ever owned. A very generious man, he was known for his outgoing personalty and beautiful smile.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and an usher at Saint Mary’s Church, Waterloo. A devoted family man, JC was fun-loving and enjoyed being outdoors. Hunting, golfing, bowling, fishing plus putting together and framing large puzzles were a few of his hobbies. JC also held a private pilot license and spent a decade flying small aircraft.
Married for 66 years, he is survived by his wife, Josephine (DeBottis) Christiano, formerly of Waterloo; his daughter, Robin and her husband, Steven Ryan of Seattle, Washington; his sons David of Nashville Tennesee and Richard and wife Regina of Foothill Ranch, California and four grandchildren Sophie, Jordan, Lille Christiano and Jack Ryan.
Beloved by his family and friends and the people of Waterloo, he’ll be greatly missed.
