There’s been an increase in drug related deaths in Cayuga County. Coroner Dr. Adam Duckett said he saw four overdose deaths in the past two weeks, all unrelated and spread across the county. On Monday, he posted on Facebook that he’s very uneasy.
Sheriff David Gould shared Dr. Duckett’s concern on Friday’s Finger Lakes Morning News.
Sheriff Gould added everyone is working to determine the reason for the sudden spike in deaths.
Dr. Duckett, Sheriff Gould and DA Jon Budelmann spoke before the Cayuga County Legislature Judicial and Public Safety Committee on Wednesday. Dr. Duckett told them fentanyl remains the number one killer.
