New York State will soon have another type of driver’s license.
Cayuga County Clerk Sue Dwyer said on Wednesday’s Finger Lakes Morning News the county DMV office will begin issuing real ID compliant licenses on October 30.
The real ID compliant license can’t be used for identification when entering Canada or Mexico by ground. Dwyer says a passport is still the best identification for traveling to those countries.
You can get more information about the real ID compliant license at the state DMV website.
